An excellent summary. I work in developing the IL programme for adults in a public library, and I find that a lot of these issues, which I try to embed into the programme, are not only issues that they are unaware of, but are often beyond their comprehension. They’d prefer to think of information as either good or bad – rather than evaluating levels of usefulness.
This really scares me, because the people who sign up for these sessions are people who *want* to learn…
