Peaking Ahead – the next SDI

Sorry for the unusally tight notice, but you can handle that! Popular SDI speaker, Ulla de Stricker, and Jill Hurst-Wahl (the leader of the SLA Second Life project) are delving into the following topic on Sept. 24th:
Where will you be in 25 (or even 10) years? Is that where you want to be?
Ulla de Stricker and Jill Hurst-Wahl speak about investing in career success and share how simple actions pack a powerful punch. I hear from this all the time from all folks around the world as I travel – How do we progress in our careers? How do we encourage our colleagues? It is a timely topic for SDI folks to consider.

Intended for new professionals and those who are contemplating or executing a career change, the webinar focuses on decisions to be made as soon as “yeah, I got a job” has been uttered. What will you do, over and above your job responsibilities, to manage your career – in the direction you prefer? What will give you professional and personal satisfaction? How can you maximize the chances you will look forward to going to work every day? Will you give back to the profession in some ways.
Ulla and Jill share their observations on how to turn “jobs” into an exciting and rewarding career. Both are well known to have contributed significantly to their professional associations and to have been extremely generous in supporting colleagues…and both say those activities have been a prominent factor in attracting opportunities and yielding great enjoyment of their work.

I think this will be our first SDI using Webex instead of MS LiveMeeting. Please be patient but we hope we will get some benefits out of this change. Double check your instructions since things will be a little different from usual. (Webex is the same system we use for SirsiDynix traiing and conference calls so many will be familiar with it.)
See you there.
