I am still having trouble ‘getting’ Google Wave. I know there’s something there it’s just not grabbing me yet but I suspect it will. Then again maybe I’m just having some social networking fatigue and need a break to refresh me.
I found this Mashable article very helpful in understanding what Google Wave could be:
Google Wave’s Massive Potential for Business Users

Is it the one app to rule them all?

“I am still having trouble ‘getting’ Google Wave. I know there’s something there it’s just not grabbing me yet but I suspect it will.”
Perhaps there is nothing to get? Just because something has a hype attached to it doesn’t mean that it is the “app to rule them all” necessarily. I know we are all anxious not to miss the next big thing, but just because people say something is good doesn’t mean it is good. We should be using our critical powers more, and a good sign on why they are needed might be your sentiment expressed above.
Not that I am saying that this is necessarily the case with Google Wave–I just don’t have enough people I know using it. But it seems to be a mash-up of Email, Chat, and Google Docs: but not even greater then 5% of people I know use all of these. I don’t necessarily see it replacing email et. al.

Nah, we’re all still trying to figure out what to do with it. Perhaps useful for distance committee work, but I can’t see it becoming a daily part of my life, like Facebook.
I haven’t used Google Wave, so I couldn’t begin to say what it’s all about, but I did find this article interesting: http://danieltenner.com/posts/0012-google-wave.html.
