Wales tried to rewrite history. Did you know that Larry Sanger was the guy who brought the idea of a wiki architecture to the existing Nupedia encyclopedia project? That Sanger named it "Wikipedia"? That Sanger made the first invitation for editors to come help the new project? And that Sanger developed most of the key guidelines and policies that governed Wikipedia's first year of growth?
