Here’s an interesting video about the invention of more flexible e-paper using e-ink.
All the e-readers we use today put e-paper into a hard frame. What changes can be wrought here:
Some ideas suggested are:
E Ink Has Screens that Crumple Like Paper [Gizmodo]
– re-usable permanent envelopes
– daily ‘paperless’ newspapers
– hospital gowns with patient data
– Name tags
– weekly magazines
– etc.
My imagination soars about library uses for this technology. Waiting . . .
