What You Can Control in a Tough Business Climate

Some folks feel helpless when external forces force change and disruption.  They’re not and you’re not helpless.  I recommend this recent article from the HBR blog:

In short it is in your control to:

“1. Setting clear goals and adjusting those goals when necessary based on  changing circumstances, resulting in more frequent but more relevant goals;

2. Aligning goals throughout the organization, top to bottom and across;

3. Identifying and treating high performers differently than low performers through consistent feedback across the organization;

4. And using software at all levels to provide process support, analytics, and insights into all of the above.”

    This is a great reminder, as this business climate remains challenging and is expected to remain the same for the forseeable future. Great read, thanks Stephen!
