Interesting.

Anyone have any other examples?  I can think of:

IBM’s ‘Peanut’ PC Junior computer that was destroyed by the parallel introduction of laptops.

8-Trak tapes that tried to trump cassettes

I even remember someone trying to sell me ‘searchbable’ microfilm rolls technology so you could find what was on each frame.  And, yes, you did have to run the whole roll through the thingee to find out what was on it.

Cautionary tales for end stage innovations.
