Friday Fun Philosophy: First World Problems

I get a kick out of the phrase ‘first world problems’.  So much of the complaining and whining I heard over the holiday season was really first world problems.  As we look to global issues of poverty, disease, war, insecurity, starvation, and homelessness, I think that this phrase helps bring perspective.

This Site Mocks You For Having ‘First World Problems,’ And Silicon Valley For  Spending Billions Solving Them

It’s called  FirstWorldProblems.biz, and its catch-phrase is “Need a first-world problem  solved? Silicon Valley has got you covered.”

First World Problems

So most of us have it pretty good and this phrase helps keep it in perspective.  (And I do see the irony in complaining about whining about first world problems!)  😉
