PBWiki free to Librarians and Educators

I’ve created a number of wikis in PB Wiki (I love the peanut butter wiki tongue in cheek culture). It ‘s very nice but I’ve always used the free version.
Now PBwiki is offering the $250 premium account to librarians and teachers for free. PBwiki is having a Back to School Challenge which will give you, librarian or educator, a free one-year premium PBwiki account. Of course, the usual considerations apply – this is a one year offer so if you really really need to have this persist, then recogonize the potential limitations of ‘free’. A premium account can get you useful features that may help your mission such as:
Full Access Controls
10GB Storage Space (new! Increased from 5GB)
No Ads
Unlimited Pages
Enterprise-Grade Encryption
Full data backups
Hideable/Lockable Pages
Priority email support within 24 hours
Export any page to PDF and HTML
Single Sign On
Sign up for the PBWiki Back to School Challenge here (Starts mid-August through Nov. 1)
The PBwiki Partner Program for Education (for institutional or corporate) is here.
This appears to be an opportuity to experiment in your library or classroom and have the controls to reduce some risks that keep some administrators awake at night.

  1. I would be that this is in answer to Wikispaces free pages for educators. We tried a PB Wiki for our college course, but the free version just didn’t cut it. Recently, we set up a Wikispaces one and are having a better time with it. Now, I’ll have to see the PB Wiki Pro version and compare!

  2. I’d also like to share that PBwiki has its own librarian on staff (me!), so if you’re interested in learning about how PBwiki can help librarians, I’m listening!
