SLA 2010 in New Orleans

I am sending out good vibes to all the folks heading to the annual SLA Conference in New Orleans. I have to miss it this year for the first time in decades. My daughter, Sydney, is graduating with her BFA from York University right smack in the middle of the conference and, since I missed her high school graduation due to SLA board work, I am determined to not miss this major life moment (for her and her parents).

I’d love to be in NOLA and see SLA President Ann Caputo’s progress on preparing SLA for the future and continuing the alignment work. I am also excited by the conversations being lead by President-elect Cindy Romaine with her Future Ready initiative that will be a focus for SLA for 2011. Stay tuned. If you’d like to, you might want to participate in the Linkedin group, Future Ready Begins Today.

I will still be getting my dose of June library conferences, though, and hope to see a lot of folks at CLA in Edmonton and ALA in DC!
