CIA Worldwide Browser Market Share

I do find it interesting that the CIA (yes, that CIA) keeps data on browser market share. Anyway, here’s the macro data on worldwide browser share in February 2011.

Internet Explorer share surges, Firefox wanes based on new CIA data

There are wide variation by country and by certain professions and areas. I know that this data doesn’t match what I see from systems librarians, but then again, ironically, many systems librarian’s personal browser choice(s), don’t match the end-users’ stations or consumer markets for home use.

As usual, we have to test our stuff on everything to make sure it plays nice with all browsers. So much for the dream of common standards . . .
