The ranking is by revenue as a measure of success. It was developed by Paidcontent.org.

I thought that it was interesting in that it is not the same list that I would have thought of for the most important or successful content companies and vendors for libraries but this does seem to speak to the consumer space quite well. It would make an interesting discussion to create a list for libraries of the most successful companies that matter to library land.
