Internet Librarian 2012

Internet Librarian 2012

This is one of my favourite conferences if not my most favourite.  I am organizing a pr-conference workshop on innovation in teen services and public libraries as well as participating in panels on teen services and doing a session at Internet @ Schools West where we’ll be discussing aligning public library and K-12 school program strategies.   I am so looking forward to it.  This conference is always innovative, visionary and fun to the max.

Here’s program chair, Jane Dysart’s note about the conference:

“I can’t believe it’s almost time for the 16th annual Internet Librarian conference for for information professionals who are using, developing, and embracing Internet, Intranet, and Web-based strategies in their roles as information architects and navigators,Webmasters and Web managers, content evaluators and developers, taxonomists, searchers, community builders, information providers, trainers, guides, and more. This year’s theme, Transformational Power of Internet Librarians: Promise & Prospect, brings some wonderful glimpses of innovative and creative services, lots of best practices for all kinds of libraries and information services, continuing discussions of ebooks and digital resource management, focus on user experience, and a great deal more. Keynotes include David Weinberger, Lee Rainie, Roy Tennant & Steve Coffman as well as Erik Boekensteijn, Jaap van de Geer & Jeff Wisniewski.

Check out the other, speakers, workshops, opening networking event, Games, Gadgets & Makerspaces: Transforming our Spaces, on Sunday evening October 21st, fun & informative Tuesday evening discuss of Transforming Roles: What do you want to be?
