Donna Scheeder Elected President-Elect of IFLA

Congratulations to my good friend, esteemed colleague, and a fellow Fellow and past president of SLA, Donna Scheeder on her election as IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) President-Elect for 2013-2015. She’ll be serving as IFLA President from 2015-2017.
The official IFLA announcement about Donna Scheeder’s elections is available here.  She recently served as treasurer as IFLA after many years of services with the section for parliamentary libraries.

Scheeder is currently Deputy CIO at the Library of Congress and also at the Congressional Research Service. Here’s her LinkedIn bio and more biographical info via KM World.

Scheeder also served SLA President and is an SLA Fellow and was the winner of the association’s John Cotton Dana Award in 2004.

I really wish I was going to Singapore in August to see her rise to international leadership and cheer her on.

Woot!

Stephen
