New website for Canadian Copyright Law (4th Edition)

I’ve often noted that Lesley Ellen Harris’s ([email protected]) book –  Canadian Copyright Law (4th Edition) – is the Canadian bible for on copyright for our field. In case you were not aware, Lesley has a new a new website to accompany the book. Part of the site discusses updates to Canadian Copyright Law, and even references pages of the book. Please take a look at the new website at www.canadiancopyrightlaw.ca.

The site also lists courses and conferences and book signings. Lesley will be doing a book signing on June 8 at the SLA conference in June. She is also teaching an eTutorial on Canadian copyright law beginning May 12. Take a look at http://canadiancopyrightlaw.ca/events/ for more upcoming events.

The book is written for non-lawyers and covers everything from discussing the various areas of intellectual property to global copyright from the Canadian perspective, how to protect content and legally use content, an overview of US copyright law and much, much more!

An entire chapter deals with limitations on rights including fair dealing and special provisions for libraries, archives, museums and educational institutions.

This is an important book for every library’s professional collection with solid information and advice.  Lesley is my go-to expert.
