Please Help Us Help Refugees – Roncesvalles Refugee Relief Gala Feb 4, 2016

We all can’t fail to be moved by the tragedies we’re reading in the news about the refugee crisis.  Sometimes we feel helpless but we’re not and we can make a difference.  None of us in our Roncesvalles neighbourhood could fail to be moved by the refugee crisis. In true Canadian spirit we think globally and act locally by making a difference one family at a time.  We’re aiming to sponsor a refugee family in our Toronto neighbourhood.

We’re excited and want to provide our friends, neighbours, and supporters with the opportunity to participate (and have a lot of fun too!).

My wife, Stephanie, and I are working with a great group of neighbours to sponsor a refugee family in our neighbourhood.  We have raised about half the needed funds ourselves and now we’re putting together a great event to raise more.  Guidelines suggest that we need about $40K for a family of four in Toronto (a higher cost city) and we’re committed to doing that.  Hey – if we overachieve, we can add more families!

So, this is where where you come in.  We’ve planned a fabulous Gala in our West-End Toronto neighbourhood with music, food, a great silent auction and more.  Every ticket includes your food and one drink.  It also includes a chance to win an all-inclusive vacation for two to the Caribbean!  Wow.

So, please buy a ticket from our website (even if you can’t attend you can consider this support and a chance to win the grand prize!).  You’ll be supporting a good cause and standing up for what we stand for as Canadians.

Our Roncesvalles Neighbourhood FUNdraiser for Refugees

On Thursday Feb. 4th, we’re holding a GALA Fundraiser to build a fund to sponsor a family.  We are aiming to raise the money to house, clothe and feed a refugee family in Toronto for one year.

Join us at our exciting GALA Event.  We’ll have performers, musicians, a magician, a DJ, a silent auction, a grand prize of a trip to the Caribbean, delicious food from top Toronto venues and wonderful beverages.
