Zotero

I love Zotero and I think it offers an advanced way to teach great academic research and information literacy and ethics.
Here’s the oultine:
What is it?
Who’s doing it?
How does it work?
Why is it significant?
What are the downsides?
Where is it going?
What are the implications for teaching and learning?
Educause has released 7 Things You Should Know About Zotero.
You can find Zotero’s popular Firefox extension for free here.
They must be making some inroads into the academic space. They are being sued:
“Thomson Reuters demands $10 million and an injunction to stop George Mason University from distributing its new Web browser application, Zotero software, an open-source format that allows users to convert Reuters’ EndNote Software. Reuters claims George Mason is violating its license agreement and destroying the EndNote customer base.”

It’s an interesting case.
