Content and Libraries

I love this graphic (discovered via Lone Wolf) since it very simply shows the ratio for the relationship of content and technology.

In the library context we are on the bleeding edge of the changes where genertajions again simple reading skills were sufficient. Now content is online, engaging, streaming, editable, taggable, and so much more.

The content creation world is huge with many players. Using technology to make sense of that content and create discovery systems is critical to people’s success.

Are libraries animators in this world? I think so. Are they partnering strongly enough with technology and content publishers? I think there’s more work to be done there.
