The great team at Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library have done it again!
They took the lemons of choosing to cut their printing budget for ther annual report and turned it into lemonade with a totally digital annual report.
Check it out on David Lee King’s blog here.

My favourite quote: “Even better – last night at our monthly board meeting, the board members loved it … and the local newspaper wrote an article about it, too. How often does YOUR library get an article, in the paper … about your annual report?”
For another annual report that was done by a larger library system, with the same goals, check out the New York Public Library Publishes Its First “Online-Only” Annual Report. You can access the 2009 NYPL Annual Report here.
Very creative and risk-taking with a good pay-off. And it’s green too! Awesome!

And it’s green too!
It’s only green if nobody prints it.

Not true – it’s green if fewer people print it, not if nobody prints it. Just try and print that video in a useful way! And anyone who wants the financials can get a copy but I would take a bet that actual printing is down well over 99%. Lordy, who prints off YouTube?
