I had the real treat of visiting Richmond Virginia for the first time. I was presenting to the annual directors meeting for the Library of Virginia (The 91 public library system directors, some staff, the state librarian and state library staff) for Virginia. It was a great group trying hard to make a big difference for their communities.
Here are the slides. They’re not the complete set since the centerpiece of the presentation was survey data I asked LVA to participate in about their top reference questions at this point in their history. If you’re part of LVA you will have access through your intranet. The data was fascinating but I decided to leave it just for them. I also shared Canada/US data from Gale Cengage Learning on the overall satisfaction and experience of library database users with library virtual services. It was very cool too.

Another special part of teh trip was a tour of teh state libraryh and an amazing visit to the state library and archives where I actually saw some treasures! (Things like the only book still existant that travelled on the Mayflower voyage and George Washington letters and more. I was so lucky!) Libraries are truly amazing treasure troves.
