eBook Piracy

I thought that this posting on MediaBistro was interesting:

Top 10 Pirated eBooks at The Pirate Bay

Read the post for the methodology.

“1. 1000 Photoshop Tips and Tricks
2. Advanced Sex: Explicit Positions for Explosive Lovemaking
3. What Did We Use Before Toilet Paper?: 200 Curious Questions

Now is it just Pirate Bay, or does e-book piracy look like an easy case for the FBI profiler?

Clearly it’s not an audience of Hogwarts, dragon tattoos and hornet nest kickers.

Is there a geekless, nerdless piracy site frequented by the average library user or are they more likely to be law-abiding?

I’d say the average library user doesn’t know where to find the stuff regardless of whether its legal or not. LegalTorrents anyone?

Demonoid.me has seen a massive increase in paranormal, paranormal romance, romance and erotica in the last year, so I’d say that ebook piracy is starting to go mainstream.
