Royal Weddings and The Listener

Have you seen the film The King’s Speech? The transcripts of the recordings which feature in the film can be found in Gale’s Listener archive.

And now with the impending Royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton here is coverage of earlier Royal weddings (Elizabeth I and Philip, Princess Margaret, Lady Diana and Charles, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew – particularly funny cartoon).

Listener Brochure

Anyway, it’s a fun week to watch a wedding and learn some history too.

And your library can promote all the stuff you have in your databases (like the Listener). Be opportunistic!

Best wishes to Wills and Kate! I’ll be in Denver on the wedding date so maybe I’ll see it live in the middle of the night.

Stephen
