On January 12th, Pew released the first-ever, in-depth research about mobile donors. The report is based on a survey of those who donated to the “Text for Haiti” campaign launched by relief groups after the earthquake struck, and contains data on:
· How donors found out about the campaign, and how they spread the word to friends and family
· How mobile giving is different from other types of philanthropy
· The other events and causes to which these donors have contributed since the earthquake
· How mobile donors are different from charitable givers in general
· How closely mobile donors have followed the ongoing reconstruction efforts
The full report is available at:

Many libraries have fundraising campaigns, active Friends groups and foundations. This data will be useful.
