   This post is not frivolous! And what was the eventual replacement for Red Dye #2… no wait, just read that M&M candies never actually contained Red Dye #2, but they stopped making the red ones anyway to keep the public calm. Re-introduced a few years later with Red Dye #40! I really love those violet ones from the early days. I want those to return to the color fold. This post made my day, thanks!
