“In a new video OverDrive CEO Steve Potash demos using OverDrive to read ebooks on any television that’s connected to the Internet and has a web-browser. This is made possible by OverDrive’s web-based ereader.

The obvious question is do people want to read ebooks while looking at a large television screen? Do you?”

From the Overdrive blog:

CES 2013: eBooks on the Fridge, in the Car, Everywhere!

“OverDrive CEO Steve Potash pulls up a digital cookbook on Samsung’s T9000 Refrigerator.

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, you don’t have to go far to find a web browser—which means you’re never far from your library’s digital collection. Whether you want to read a digital cookbook on your refrigerator door or entertain the kids by letting them flip through a children’s eBook on a touchscreen embedded in the car headrest, with OverDrive’s Next Generation platform, your digital library is always in reach.”

I can easily see myself, and have already done it often, reading books on e-readers, tablets and laptops.  On TV screens in my home, it will take some convincing…

On the fridge? In the car?  I’m just a little doubtful . . .
