TEDx did the “official” release of the recent talks online. If you haven’t seen it, the TEDx Talk is about the current library digital experience, along with some suggestions, from a technology (non-librarian) perspective:

Andrew received a lot of good feedback, as well as some good constructive criticism. All comments good and bad are welcome, I think it’s a big issue that needs a national dialogue. The first step towards solutions is awareness and Andrew welcomes a healthy public debate.
Since some of the comments Andrew received revolve around, essentially, the question as to who’s at fault (libraries, publishers, technology providers), and the Talk did not permit him the time to address this in detail, I thought I’d also share a recent guest post Andrew did on changing the status quo in library electronic media distribution business models:
