Whitehouse 2.0

Well, this has to mean 2.0 is pretty mainstream.
“In President Obama’s last Weekly Address, he called on government to “recognize that we cannot meet the challenges of today with old habits and stale thinking.” He added that “we need to reform our government so that it is more efficient, more transparent, and more creative,” and pledged to “reach beyond the halls of government” to engage the public.”
As an example of this the White House has expanded is taking steps to expand how the Administration is communicating with the public about such issues as the H1N1 virus.
In addition to WhiteHouse.gov, you can now find information from the White House on a number of other spots on the web:
Facebook.com/WhiteHouse
MySpace.com/WhiteHouse
Twitter.com/WhiteHouse
Flickr.com/WhiteHouse
Vimeo.com/WhiteHouse
YouTube.com/WhiteHouse
iTunes (videos & podcasts)
The WhiteHouse blog (RSS) will power a lot of the content in these networks. The White House is encouraging “fans, friends and followers.”
If it’s good enough for the president, then it’s surely OK for every library too.
