Over the last six months Nonprofit Tech for Good has bookmarked over 50 fundraising tools. Libraries are habitually short of funds. It’s one thing to complain, commiserate with peers or blame your prime funder (largely tuition fees or taxation like property axes or mil rates) or to point out the situation without a call-to-action. It’s another thing to pilot and experiment with things to do something about it.
Some libraries have had success with Kickstarter or IndieGoGo but those sometimes appear profit-oriented, which sometimes doesn’t align with library value systems. This list of not-for-profit fundraising sites might be useful for your initiatives.
