I w0rry when I’m teaching iSchool students how few of them know the fundamentals of reference interviewing and open=ended questionings.
I ALWAYs assert that we are not an information profession but a question improvement profession. Also, the root word of information is “to inform.” We’re better off defining ourselves and our value with verbs and not nouns.
