Are you engaging donors more lately?

Lately, I’ve met quite a few generous library donors. The educating, care, feeding and courting of donors is a fine skill. You can also make friends with new people and develop deep relationships where you both accomplish something great – buildings, collections, events and more.

I thought you might find this posting useful:

What your donors (and would-be donors) wish you knew
by Brett Bonfield

The headings:

1. There are multiple economies
2. We like winners
3. We want you to ask us for money
4. We really like to be thanked
5. Our sense of privacy is different from your sense of our privacy
6. We don’t think like you do
7. We don’t know what you know (and we don’t want to have to learn it)
8. Facts are boring
9. It’s about relationships
10. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing
11. You are all individuals
