What do we know about Twitter? We know that it covers a minority of library users. However, we also know that those users are valuable targets for library use. It’s a quandary.
Twitter users online twice as long as average web surfers: report by Michael Oliveira, The Canadian Press via Globe and Mail (July 13)
CBC/Radio-Canada and BBM Analytics studied the habits of internet users in Canada
“Between 2003 and 2010, Internet use grew by 26 per cent among anglophone users and 36 per cent among francophones. Usage numbers have really spiked for users older than 50, with a 52 per cent increase among older anglophones in that time frame and an 85 per cent increase among those francophone users.”
But what Canadians really like is Twitter – big internet users spend twice as much time on Twitter than the average user.”
