Global Digital Inclusion

Check out this Map of Glogal Digital Inclusion (August 4th, 2007 by Paul Lamb) by Maplecroft Maps.
Every year before I head to IFLA I surf a little to see what’s going on worldwide and rid my head (a little – 😉 ) of my western centricity.
“This combined with AMD’s 50X15 ticker on worldwide Internet penetraiton provides for some relatively good and real time information on the state of a “connected” world…or at least a more visual representation of the challenge. Of course such one dimensional representations do not tell us if, in what ways, and how well people are using Internet connectivity – just that they have some degree of access.” (Smart Mobs)
It will be great when this map shows digital opportunity and sufficient food, clean water and peace as well.
Another viewpoint here.
