Books Sales Up and eBooks up 193% over 8 months

U.S. e-book sales show 193% increase

“Between January and August, e-book sales in the U.S. have increased by 193 %, according to a report released by the Association of American Publishers on Thursday. E-book sales amounted to $263 million during the period, or 9% of total sales. Meanwhile, print sales of adult and children’s titles dropped in August, but the AAP reports that all book sales have increased by 6.9% for the year so far. The full report is available on the AAP website.”

As I’ve noted before, reading is up, way up. Libraries are all over reading and all over questions and answers – improving the quality of questions and giving great answers.

Don’t let anyone tell you the book is dead and imply that is meaningful on any level when it comes to the real issue of reading and library user service.
