This is my day for blogging about mobile. Here’s another interesting forecast for mobile that is aimed at the association sector:
“Mobile will start to become part of every business’ marketing and distribution strategy in 2011,” said Kunal Gupta, CEO of Polar Mobile. “That’s where we all spend our time and brands, marketers and publishers will want to capture that opportunity.”
According to a report by Polar Mobile, they are 11 major mobile trends to watch out for in 2011:
“1. Your mobile strategy will go beyond the iPhone and iPad
2. Android fragmentation will be a major challenge
3. Tablets will appear in every home
4. Number of active users will become more important than number of downloads
5. Social will differentiate the mobile app experience
6. Mobile exclusive brands and content will have success
7. Paid content will have limited success due to infrastructure
8. Mobile apps and mobile web get hitched and play nice together
9. Apps leverage NFC to become mobile commerce tools
10. App security and threats will become important
11. Fragmentation across OS and device will grow exponentially”
