Bullying is a real issue and libraries can help.
They helped me. Pay attention to that kid who visits the library every day and avoids recess before and after school, and seems a little out of place, etc.
It does get better but don’t underestimate libraries as safe places to be yourself.

Serious issue, indeed, and one that is often not taken seriously by adults. Having been bullied as a child, I see red every time I read an article where someone talks about teaching the victim better coping skills instead of establishing that this is unacceptable behavior. Too often, there’s a “Kids will be kids” attitude.
That said — maybe I’m not getting the statistics on here, but on the left it says that 77% of children are bullied, and one the right it says that 1 in 4 children will be abused by another youth. Seems to be opposite. Any clarification on that? Is the latter restricted to physical abuse?
