OK we know where Google’s money comes from – it is almost totally advertising based. That is an important distinction in information literacy training betwen the motivations for Google and those databases and services offered by libraries.

What about LinkedIn’s business model after they just had the big IPO?:

There are business models for the web that aren’t ad based.
