3D Printing

So, you know, I am fascinated by 3D printing. I think it might be a leftover from watching food appear magically on Star Trek. Anyway, we’re getting closer to that vision. Here’s some recent stuff:

Even Snopes had to do an entry on this being TRUE, the real deal, and not an urban myth.

Video clip shows a wrench being duplicated by a 3D printer.

Zcorp 3D Printer 650

I find it most amazing that objects can be printed with moving parts and colour. Awesomeness in the true sense of awe..

Anthony Atala: Printing a human kidney

Surgeon Anthony Atala demonstrates an early-stage experiment that could someday solve the organ-donor problem: a 3D printer that uses living cells to output a transplantable kidney. Using similar technology, Dr. Atala’s young patient Luke Massella received an engineered bladder 10 years ago; we meet him onstage.

Wow.
