I especially like the hand-cranked device that inexplicably takes books dropped into the bin on top and converts them into audio signals. Think how inexpensive audio books would be today if: 1) there was no need to hire celebrities to record the books; and 2) publishers could use child-labor to crank the machines!
Hi Jay: The Kuzweil machines can read print books out loud although it’s mainly limited to the visually impaired. Also, the Gale ReadSpeak feature reads any article online out loud. Sadly, they never sound like celebrities. Maybe some star will leave his or her voice to science!
