Comparing The Tablets
How does the Amazon Kindle Fire stack up against the competition? (chart updated 9/28/11 at 11 a.m. PDT)
If you’re looking for an excuse not to, then worry that Amazon is releasing another one or two models soon, a new Nook will arrive, and the RIM Playbook is on the bubble (it was designed by the same folks as the Fire) and is rumoured for cancellation. And there’s always a new model coming out. Are you the guy who always ends up with Betamax in a VHS world? LOL – that’s me but I usually have both in the end.

I would also add that Canadian customers cannot borrow library books on the Kindle yet – something which I believe you can do already with the other 3 devices. I emailed Amazon about this last week and they cannot give a date when this might happen.
Yes that’s true. Geographic zoning of publisher rights is probably to blame. It should also be noted that Kindle books are different than e-books in general and that Amazon is brilliantly co-opting library card holders in a Trojan horse maneuvre. Libraruians should be wary of this as well as the sharing of private and confidential patron information with a bookseller.
