Seeing What Doesn’t Seem to Be There

from Mitch Ditkoff at The Heart of Innovation blog.
The above image is a very good metaphor for business. There’s something hidden in it that most people don’t see at first glance. Looking at it the same way you always look at things won’t help.
TEN WAYS TO SEE DIFFERENTLY
1. Soften your focus
2. Sneak up on it
3. Look at things from a different angle
4. Don’t try so hard
5. Notice new patterns
6. Stop staring
7. Ask someone else to look on your behalf
8. Look away, then look back
9. Shrink or expand the image
10.Change the lighting
What would you add to this list?”
Seeing things differently doesn’t mean agreeing or disagreeing. It can mean understanding change or another’s point of view. Either way, it is a great skill that we need more of in this age.
