  1. While this does show a sharp increase in the purchasing of tablets and smartphones, I’m not sure it actually shows that the PC is dying. There is a sharp uptick in purchasing of each new device. For all their exciting new possibilities, smartphones and tablets (of the iPad and Android sort) are relatively new devices so we should expect a similar pattern.

    Also the fairly significant rise in the sales of Mac computers are indicative that perhaps the desktop/laptop isn’t dying so much as the Windows OS. But perhaps that’s just wishful thinking on my part.
