Learning from Startups at OLA

Are you doing OLA this year?  If so, there’s a session I’d like to highlight.  It’s a repeat of a very cool event that SLA Toronto did back in November 2011.

It has a cool range of Toronto information industry startup companies

If you can fit this in, the session details are:

Thursday, Jan 31: 10:40-11:55am
Session # 424 – Home Grown Tech: Start It Up!
Room 206C

There are some great startups presenting – Wattpad Spongelab, Sciencescape, Groupnotes, Tabillo, and HitSend.

Check it out.

I will be doing two sessions on Thursday at OLA too.  I’ll be interviewing a panel of new Canadian immigrants and seeing how libraries can help.  Learning from end users is the theme.  I’ll also be doin a PR an advocacy session using social media and more.

I’ll be there for the whole conference so I’ll look forward to seeing my Canadian peeps and tweeps.
