I recently joined Mastodon.
That made me think it would be helpful to have a plan for what I post to social media and where so here’s where I’m at today:
Stephen’s Lighthouse
My Blog is called Stephen’s Lighthouse. It is here: https://stephenslighthouse.com/
Lighthouse Consulting, Inc.’s webpage is here: https://stephenslighthouse.com/lighthouse-consulting-inc/
Basically, I use my blog to keep a web version of things I’ve read that I find interesting and want to remember or refer to again. Sometimes, folks in Library Land find them interesting too judging by the thousands of folks who follow my blog in their RSS feeds. (I use Feedly)
I tend to read things about libraries, teaching, human behaviour, AI, genomics, brains, knowledge management / ecologies, technology, trends, academia, researcher behaviour, teens/tweens/kids/adults, and seniors, and more.
I continue to have an account on Twitter (the Twitterverse)) but I suspect there will be a Chapter 11 reorganization / bankruptcy event in the near future.
I am @sabram
I despise the hate on the app but I only follow my tribe – librarians, quality news, academics, etc. I am a little shielded from the worst parts of it.
My blog is linked to Twitter and all of the blog postings are re-posted on Twitter.
Mastodon
I have recently joined Mastodon as an alternative to Twitter. I am withholding judgement so far but it seems a pretty good example of the Fediverse. I’ve posted a number of links to Mastodon on my blog. [https://stephenslighthouse.com/2022/11/10/to-tweet-or-not-to-tweet/]
I am @sabram (or maybe @[email protected]).
I joined a server in the Mastodon Fediverse that is hosted by my friend and colleague, Brian Pichman (of The Evolve Project and frequent speaker at Information Today events and libraries. If you want to join me check it out at: https://libraryland.social/home
Brian and I are working on getting my blog linked to Mastodon. (Coming Soon)
I’ve been on LinkedIn for a very long time. I try to use it for just professional postings that are related to my core interests and educational.
My blog often re-posts links to LinkedIn.

Facebook is where I have fun and I give myself the gift to be a little political (warning – LEFT).
I post humour (often seasonal), inspirations, leadership frameworks for discussion, anti-hatred, nostalgia (mine), and more.
I also am gaga over my granddaughter, Sage, and she has an avid fanbase on my Facebook.
I am here: http://facebook.com/stephen.abram.98
I belong to Instagram but try to only follow family and close friends.
Others
I know that I’ve joined other social networks over the years to learn about them (and be better informed) but I am inactive on nearly all of them. (i.e., MySpace, Tumblr, TikTok, Classmates, Alignable, etc.)
Lastly I participate in the social networks of my professional associations – ALA Connect, SLA Connect, and OLA.
