“Audiobook production has always had one problem: it’s expensive and slow. Recording, editing, distribution. Most authors skip it entirely.
Spotify just removed that excuse. They’re adding AI audiobook creation to Spotify for Authors using ElevenLabs, starting with an invite-only beta in June. English first, more languages later. No exclusivity lock-in, so authors keep full distribution rights.
This isn’t a consumer feature. It’s a publishing workflow play. Spotify is quietly positioning itself at the start of the audiobook supply chain, not just the end.”

“A recent study, AI Writing Detectors Are Ineffective, Unreliable, and Harmful by Louie Giray, brings together a growing body of evidence and makes a clear argument:
AI writing detectors are not reliable enough to be used in educational decision-making, and using them that way risks real harm to students.
